Generations have come of age on this music. Visuals, style and talent are vital. The Temptations and The Four Tops serve as an unshakable pillar of the said qualities. The dance steps, the suits, the performance…Wow!
I wonder, when these photos of Mr. Brando were taken, did he know he was killing it?I am sure he did. Some gentlemen were born for the silver screen.“Brando” as my Father called him, was a Saturday-Sunday television matinee favorite growing up.My father would say, “Son this is one of the coolest men on the planet!”After growing up and doing my own research, I now agree. Brando was a class act and remains one of the best to ever hold the attention of millions with sheer talent and style.
One of my dear clients showed this clip to me, after viewing it (over 30 times) I was so amazed. The spin Mr. Brown applies to this standard is outstanding. The focal point of this site is fashion. Please look at the fit of this suit. The cut of the jacket, the fit and break on the trouser, the man could wear a suit. It would be extremely difficult to duplicate the movements Mr. Brown demonstrates with relative ease.
Mr. Brown, how many ways can I thank you? Thank you for making millions of Men, Women and children proud to be themselves. Thank you for such brilliant footwork and movement. Thank you for the great voice, the vast landscape of music and the artist of all races you continue to inspire (present company included).
Extra: I don’t want nobody (Open up the door) | Look at the suit and listen to the lyrics on this one.
Shows with great theme songs usually have great wardrobe. Many of the TV shows I grew up watching had these key elements. From casual wear to suiting, many of the looks displayed have been reinterpreted for a new generation, quite fascinating.
Note: I was unable to find an HTML link for “The Cosby Show”, seasons 1 and 6. The looks for the these seasons were classic and the music was lovely.
The jewel: Go to You Tube and enter The Cosby Show.
Fantastic stories, vibrant visuals, great tailoring
I was introduced to Wes, through his 3rd installment, ‘The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)”. The film was recommended by a client, who served as an executive for one of the producers. The Royal Tenenbaums is visually attractive and the characters are well developed. As for the wardrobe-fascinating. As the fashion narrative and storyline developed, I noticed the cleaver removal of location and time period.
The Creator is in the details. I appreciate detail and the sartorial eye Wes Anderson has for his audience. This film is an experience for the literature lover and admirer of fine tailoring.
Many of the leading men from this era, fascinate my sartorial interest. Mr. Beatty ranks near the top, for his staying power, box office draw and attention to fashion, in the early years. From the 1967 film “Bonnie and Clyde” to the 1971 film “Shampoo” and beyond, Mr. Beatty has tackled a vast assortment of topics, looking great in the process.
